Designing the Backbone of Critical Infrastructure
Stevan Jovanovic is a network and datacenter architect with over 20 years of experience in the design, implementation, and operation of critical infrastructure, particularly in multi-site and high-availability environments.
Founder of Kepernet, he acts as an independent expert for operators, hosting providers, IT departments, and sensitive organizations — from technical design through to operational deployment.

Combined Expertise in Network and Datacenter Architecture
His background covers the full spectrum of critical IT infrastructure:
- Network: design of multi-site architectures (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, VRF), carrier interconnections (dark fiber, WDM), RIPE autonomy, open-source solutions (FRRouting), with deployments on Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and ASR platforms.
- Datacenter: end-to-end design of certified environments (Uptime Tier III/IV, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, HDS), including layout planning, cooling, power, access security — up to 20 kW per rack.
- Deployment & Integration: hands-on implementation, technical documentation, runbooks, and coordination with datacenter providers, network operators, and internal IT teams.
- Crisis Management: rapid diagnostics, sensitive migrations, and critical remediation — including both business continuity (BCP) and disaster recovery (DRP) planning, ensuring operational resilience at both organizational and infrastructure levels.
Notable Projects & Expertise
- Founder of Kepernet: an independent consulting practice launched in 2025 to deliver agile, expert-level support for complex and mission-critical infrastructure environments.
- CTO at Nexeren (XEFI group) for 13 years: oversight of 5 datacenters, leadership of technical teams, and deployment of a multi-tenant on-premise cloud infrastructure. Designed and led the implementation of the core backbone architecture using Cisco Nexus, ASR, and Catalyst platforms, Checkpoint firewalls, and oversaw the hosting infrastructure built on HPE technologies.
- Network & Security Team Leader at Sanofi Pasteur: operation of network infrastructure, Nexus 1000v virtualization, application security, Checkpoint firewalls, and BGP transit.

Location
Kepernet is based in Civrieux, in the Ain department, near Lyon. Its operations cover the entire French territory, with the ability to work internationally depending on the project.
Real-World, Client-Centered Approach
He designs each architecture with particular attention to durability, resilience, documentation quality, and operational efficiency.
He remains involved through to deployment, with full technical expertise from the physical layer to advanced routing.
